Message: Only 750 characters! Okay . . . Briefly then, this East Indian rosewood/Sitka spruce concert guitar that Al built is really beautiful! No kidding! Appealing to see, hear, touch, play. It even SMELLS good! (The K-9 finish is the way to go, Al.) This project turned into a very nice partnership, a kind of musical conspiracy. Al understands guitars and the inner and outer decisions that go into getting a custom-made instrument. I feel like I have made a special friend in the course of this creative process. I would recommend anyone to Al and apprentice James for repair and building a stringed instrument. I'll stop here, whether I've hit my 750 or not, because I want to go PLAY this beautiful new creation, which I call "Sitka Rose." Jim Gilkeson

Message: Hi Al! I played the guitar for the first time on Sunday morning, just one song. Then, played for two hours on Sunday night, using some cool effects. Amazing!!!
